Michelle Rago, Esq.

Khalil draws on his technical training and background in Computer Science and Information Technology to advise clients on a broad range of IP matters.  Khalil graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property. In law school he was selected as an Information Policy and Information Law (IPIL) colloquium fellow, where he reviewed scholarly IP articles and provided constructive comments to the authors of those articles. He also served as a member of Cardozo’s Moot Court Honor Society, and won second best brief in the 29th Annual Jerome Price Evidence Law Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining the firm, Khalil worked at IBM’s Copyright Clearance Center, where he reviewed software agreements and provided guidance to developers on OSS/third party license agreements.  Khalil also had the opportunity to work at CBS, where he performed defamation clearances for the Jim Rome show, researched CBS applications for compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and searched web outlets to enforce CBS trademarks.

While attending law school, Khalil gained experience at the NYS Attorney General’s Office, where he provided legal research and drafted memoranda of law for the litigation bureau in defense of state agencies such as the Department of Health, and the Office of Temporary Disability Assistance. Prior to his first summer in law school, he was competitively selected for the Honorable Harold Baer -Minority Judicial Internship Program. He was assigned to the Honorable Cheryl E. Chambers, in the NYS Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Department, where he provided legal research and drafted motion memoranda for Judge Chambers’ review.

Prior to law school, Khalil held a variety of roles in the IT field.  In his spare time he enjoys cooking shows, baroque era music, mentoring law students, and keeping up to date on the latest developments in technology and the law.
