Jennifer is a results-driven, knowledgeable attorney with extensive, diversified experience.
Jennifer advises on a full range of transactional matters - focusing on business transactions, corporate structure, corporate governance, venture capital financing, non-profit formation, sports law and entertainment law. Jennifer currently serves as outside counsel for companies such as Iman Cosmetics Inc., focusing on their North American Region and has structured distribution agreements on behalf of her clients with companies such as QVC, StarShop, and Whole Foods. Jennifer has also reviewed Private Placement Memorandums and licensing deals on behalf of emerging technology companies including Wordeee, Xeniapp and Visionary Access. Jennifer was recently featured in the Huffington Post with respect to her work on emerging tech companies.
Jennifer also oversees a Non-Profit and Corporate Governance division in an effort to serve the needs of the athletes that she counsels. Jennifer currently serves as counsel for Nassan's Place, a Non-Profit foundation supported by Hassan Whiteside of the Miami Heat. Jennifer also serves as legal counsel and board member for KAT Team, a non-profit organization supported by Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jennifer has been featured in Spark Sports regarding her legal work with KAT Team. Furthermore, Jennifer has negotiated sponsorship Agreements on behalf of her clients with companies such as Morgan Stanley, TD Bank, Wilmington Trust, Bergdorf Goodman and Toyota.
Jennifer has also worked with the Entertainment Group of the law firm and has counseled clients on film projects involving both feature and documentary films, such as NBATV's documentary featuring Julius Erving, The Doctor. Jennifer has also negotiated distribution contracts with record labels such as VPal Music and Atlantic Records and drafted complex publishing agreements, management contracts on behalf of musicians, models and entertainers. Jennifer also works closely with BMI and ASCAP to ensure that her clients' musical compositions are catalogued correctly in order to receive accurate performance royalties.
Prior to private practice, Jennifer had a multifaceted career as an attorney. Jennifer began her illustrious legal career as an Assistant District Attorney. While there, she worked on complex White Collar Felony Cases and maintained a high conviction rate.
Jennifer then accepted an offer with the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates. As an Associate, she worked in the Corporate Litigation division where she honed her skills on federal regulations, venture capital financing, investor relations and banking laws. She also provided legal advice regarding fiduciary obligations, federal regulations and risk management / prevention measures to investment firms, small to midsized banks and fortune 500 companies.
Jennifer then shifted gears and accepted a position as Assistant General Counsel, Vice President at JPMorgan Chase where she worked in the Litigation Division. While there, she was selected to spearhead a small unit with a focus on Money Laundering involving pre-paid cards. Jennifer was able to work cross functionally within the different units and consulted with Global Security and Investigations, Treasury Securities Services and Global Financial Crimes.
Jennifer enjoys giving back to her community. Jennifer has volunteered with the Each One Teach One Program and the Read to Me Program. Jennifer is also committed to causes such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Multiple Sclerosis and Literacy.
